Leon Ferrari
50 Years of Visual Resistance
Overdue Renaissance | Solo Show

Pan American Art Projects presents León Ferrari: 50 Years of Visual Resistance – Overdue Renaissance, a retrospective honoring one of Latin America’s most influential dissident artists. Featuring works from the private collection of gallery founder Robert Borlenghi, the exhibition offers a rare, intimate look at Ferrari’s powerful legacy.
Spanning five decades, the show highlights Ferrari’s use of abstract calligraphy and visual language as tools of resistance—challenging authority and advocating for human rights. From asemic writing to chaotic, protest-like compositions, his work remains a vital force in the global discourse on oppression and the role of art in activism.
This timely retrospective places Ferrari within the context of Latin American resistance and a broader resurgence of politically engaged art—his message as urgent today as ever.
The New Gold Rush
Collective Exhibition

Francis Acea (1967-). Golden Years, 2008. Mixed media, 14 x 14 in.
Pan American Art Projects presents The New Gold Rush, a group exhibition exploring gold as material and metaphor—from its seductive beauty to its political and economic weight. On view from June 21 to August 2, 2025, the show transforms the gallery into a dark, immersive space where golden artworks shine as bold reflections on power, wealth, and illusion.
Referencing the 19th-century California Gold Rush, the exhibition draws parallels to today’s speculative pursuits—digital currencies, luxury, land grabs—and their consequences: inequality, environmental damage, and disillusionment. Against black walls, each golden piece confronts viewers with what glitters, what is gained, and what is lost.
Featuring painting, sculpture, installation, and mixed media, The New Gold Rush brings together artists who interrogate material value, systems of power, and the lingering costs of extraction and ambition.
Featuring artists: Francis Acea, Duane Armstrong, Elizabet Cerviño, Carlos Estévez, Brian Hunt, Jorge Lavoy, Vero Murphy, Carlos Nicanor, Verónica Romano, Macarena Salinas, Carolina Sardi, Mariana Tocornal and José A. Vincench.
